A Romantic Weekend away in Venice...

9 Nov 2018

Hello everyone,

As you may have seen by my Insta photos, Sam took me on a weekend away to Venice for my 21st Birthday. It was honestly one of the most magical experiences of my life and I was so happy to have finally visited Italy. We flew from Bristol airport on Friday 26th and stayed until Monday morning, where we got an early morning flight back to the UK. We also stayed in a little apartment that was just a 15-20 minute walk away from Piazza San Marco.

On Friday we flew from Bristol at around 3pm and landed in Italy at 6pm, we then unpacked, got ready and went straight for dinner. We went to this beautiful restaurant on the canal and ate pasta and had the most amazing view of Ponte Di Rialto, the oldest bridge in Venice. We also saw all of the gondolas going by on the canal and it was just so surreal. We took a little stroll around however Venice is a little hard to navigate in the dark.

On Saturday we took a walk again past Ponte Di Rialto and took a look in some of the shops. And I finally went into Sephora for the first time yay and brought a few goodies too. We also went into this amazing Department store and it was amazing to look around everything. We stopped off for some coffee and we had some yummy food through out the day and visited Piazza San Marco, which was honestly beautiful. Then in the evening we got ready and went out for dinner. We didn't have the best experience in the restaurant but I'm not going to dwell as I have literally told the story about 1398498 times. But other than that we had a great day.

On Sunday we decided that we wanted to take a look around some local museums. We visited the Peggy Guggenheim Museum which was amazing to walk round. We then sat down for a little while and looked in the gift shop too. It had began to rain quite a lot on Sunday so we did have to buy these plastic covers for our shoes because the canals were flooding into the streets and the shops. You may have seen in the news the awful flooding and storms in Venice, so we were so lucky to have come home when we did. We also tried some cannoli, which is like a pastry filled with cream and they were so so yummy. And in the evening we went out for pizza and had some ice cream to finish off what had been an incredible weekend.

Thankyou so much for reading I really hope you enjoyed!!
