Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil Review...

20 Jun 2018

Hello everyone

I recently received a lovely parcel from PinkParcel.com and one of the amazing goodies within the subscription box was this Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose Facial Oil*. Now I was a little sceptical to use this as I have never used a facial oil before and to be honest, I have always been quite scared of putting an oil based product on my skin. After about 3 days of this sitting in my skincare basket, I finally decided to take the plunge and try it out.

Qualities

This facial oil claim to be a 'light weight facial oil infused with vitamins and oils for a brighter, even skin tone'. The oil is also vegan friendly which is amazing! I believe this retails for around £39 for the 30ml bottle, however I have here the 15ml and its lasting me very well. Here is what Dr Botanicals.com have to say about the oil...

'he main active ingredients in the formulation are:
1) Vitamin C helps to stimulate collagen production, for younger-looking skin.

2) Vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant with aims to rejuvenate skin, even skin tone and reduce the signs of ageing; while protecting from free radicals.
3) Almond Oil deeply moisturises and nourishes skin, whilst brightening the complexion for brighter fresh looking skin.'

Texture/ Consistency

I tend to use this in the evening as I always like to wake up and see if my skin looks any different from the day before. I have recently been struggling with quite a few blemishes and red areas on my skin and I have noticed that this has really helped my skin out. I tend to take around 4 drops of the oil and press it into my skin. When I first felt it on the skin, I was expecting it to feel a lot more oily and greasy, however, I would probably describe the texture as more of an oil based serum as it feels lovely and light on your skin. For me, I preferred it this way as I had never used an oil before, so it was a bonus that it was light weight.

Application

I loved that fact that this product had a pipette as it was really easy to guide how many drops I wanted to use. My skin absorbed the product really well and didn't leave my skin feeling too sticky and it definitely did not leave a greasy residue on the skin, which is definitely a plus point for me.

Scent

Now this product is probably one of the nicest smelling skincare products I have ever used. Anything rose scented I just love. I am actually horrendous at describing scents but this honestly smells like nothing I have ever smelt before, a very sweet scent that I would go as far as saying actually smells like Candy Kittens (which are amazing).

Results
So what you are all probably wanting to know, is does this oil actually do anything good for my skin? Well the answer is definitely yes. I feel like it has really helped to reduce the under the skin spots I get around 'that time of the month' and also just make my skin feel so much brighter and rejuvenated.

I really hope you enjoyed this review, all the best,

Cristy x x
