6 ways to Prepare your Wardrobe for Christmas*...

20 Nov 2018

Hello everyone, and welcome to my first Christmassy Blog post of 2018...

I am so excited to share with you this post as I have been so lucky for this to be my first ever collaborative post. I thought, what better way to start the Christmas season than to share with you some tips on how to prepare your wardrobe for the festive season. I know I often struggle with staying stylish in this old weather, however, hopefully these tips will help you with staying stylish this winter.

1. Take Inspiration from Instagram

My first little tip for preparing your wardrobe for the festive season would be to have a thorough scroll through Instagram. I get so much outfit Inspo from Instagram and think its such a great way to see whats on trend for the season and seeing how people style their pieces. Some of my favourite style accounts include, @sophielouisesdiary, @freddy (of course) and @Josieldn. I also thoroughly enjoy watching fashion hauls and Look book's on YouTube to get me in the mood for sorting through my wardrobe. One piece that I has caught my eye via Instagram is this Topshop pink fur coat. I actually saw Freddy Cousin Brown in a gorgeous Pink faux fur coat from Victoria Secret and it looked amazing. I think pink faux fur is just gorgeous and goes with so many other items in your wardrobe. As well as looking lovely, they will keep you so warm too.

2.  Try Out a new trend

Another way to get your wardrobe ready for winter would be to try out a new trend. Recently I have been loving the baker boy hat trend. Now saying this, I have never actually owned a baker boy hat, however, I think i am going to have to get myself down to Primark to buy one, because they are honestly so so cute. This trend is perfect for winter as its not only making your outfit look so cute and put together, its also going to keep your head warm in these colder, wintery months.  You can find these hats in Primark for just under £5 and in online stores such as Pretty Little thing.

3. Add a little sparkle to your wardrobe

As its Christmas, one of the best ways to spice up your wardrobe would definitely be to add a sparkly number. Whether this be a dress, skirt, top or jumper, this is a great way to get your wardrobe ready for Christmas. This Pink sequin dress from www.warehouse.co.uk Party Wear* is the perfect dress for a Christmas party or Christmas night out! Its the perfect time of year to go OTT with that perfect sequin dress. This one is the cutest pastel pink/ coral colour which fits perfectly with the colour palette of my wardrobe, but there are so many different colours and options out there on the high street. I think this dress would be the perfect dress that will make you feel amazing and turn heads (in a good way)...

4. Purchase your annual Christmas jumper

I absolutely loveeee looking at all of the Christmas jumpers shops have to offer. New Look have some adorable Christmas jumpers in pastel colours too, which I love. This gorgeous grey jumper is also from Warehouse has these cute little candy cane sequin hearts. I feel like this would look perfect with jeans or a sparkly skirt, and would look great with almost anything.  This one is just under £40, which for an embellished jumper, is a pretty good price. I also find grey is such a great colour to style and work with because it goes with almost every colour and looks perfect with a pink hat or scarf.

5. Treat Yourself

Its always okay to do a cheeky 'to me, from me' purchase around Christmas time. Treating yourself to a new key luxury piece of clothing or accessorise such as a bag or shoes would be a great way to prepare your Winter/Christmas wardrobe. purchasing a bag or pair of shoes that is a classic piece is  great because they are able to go with so many different outfits, maybe outfits for a party or for a cosy winters day. Buying pieces that will go with so many other pieces in your wardrobe is a great way to make the most of your money.  This hexagonal box  bag from Warehouse is beautiful, and ties in well with the well loved snake print trend. The gold detailing also makes the bag look so much more expensive and can really elevate a simple outfit. This bag comes in at £36, which is a little more pricey than say Topshop box bags, however I think this is the perfect bag for Christmas, as its just that little bit more out there.

6. Prepare Your knitwear accessories

I don't know about you but I have about 328354 scarves hats and gloves in my wardrobe, but I mean that doesn't stop me from buying a new one each year. I absolutely am in love with the Burberry Classic Cashmere Pink tartan scarf, however, it's a shame it comes with such a big price point. There are so many different dupes for this scarf on the high street, and I think its the perfect accessory for your winter wardrobe. I do also think a camel tartan scarf also looks great for this time of year, as camel/ nude colours are really on trend. Its so great to have an accessory that is not only keeping you warm but looks stylish and great with any outfit too.

Thank you so so much for reading my first Christmassy Blog post, and I really hope that this has helped you with your Christmas wardrobe.
