An Afternoon at the Memsahib Gin and Tea Bar Cheltenham...*

26 Sept 2019

Hello everyone,

Last Sunday I was lucky enough to attend an afternoon Gin and tea making masterclass, situated on the Cheltenham Promenade at the Memsahib Gin and Tea Bar. I was so lucky to be asked by the lovely guys at the gin and tea bar if I would like to attend the masterclass with a plus one as a gifted experience and I must say it was a lovely Sunday afternoon.

We began the afternoon meeting some lovely bloggers from the local area with welcome drinks prepared by the lovely owners and then we were welcomed to the bar and told all about the history behind the gin and tea bar and what they do that makes them stand out from the other gin bars in the area. They craft their very own gins with their tea, made from Indian spices, such as cardamon, bay leaves, star anise and cinnamon. We were also gifted our very own little pouch of these spices where we can actually infuse our own gin at home, which I am so excited to do. When we were tasting the gins you can really taste the infusion of the Indian spices and it is unlike anything I have ever tasted in a gin before.

The lovely owners of the Bar Litu and Rasel presented us with an array of different gin recipes and showed us exactly how they make these, explaining all about the tea infusions. They use one of the most common gins, London Dry gin and infuse these in the bar with their tea infusions, often smoking the gin to give the ultimate flavour.

In total, we tried about 5 different drinks, all beautifully presented in amazing glasses and placed on boards, definitely a potions sort of vibe, which I absolutely loved. It is so nice to see so much thought and effort go into making you drink. My favourite of the gins has to be the first Gin we were presented with, we also got to try some of their gyoza, which I must say, was absolutely incredible. We also tried an amazing drink that was smoked using a very interesting device they use to smoke both food and drink. I must say it was one of the most unusual drinks I have ever tasted and it was unlike anything I have ever drank before.

They were also kind enough to provide us with lunch, and the food was just incredible. You can honestly tell that they truly want you to have an amazing experience at the bar and restaurant, which is so lovely because there are not many places in Cheltenham that do so. We had chicken samosa, duck, with spiced chips and a baileys cheesecake to finish. It was honestly such a yummy spread. If you are after some incredible quality food and drink, I would highly reccomened the Memsahib Gin and Tea Bar...

You can read more on their website and even book HERE

Once again, thank you so much for having me, myself and Sam had such a lovely Sunday afternoon, it was such a lovely treat...

Thank you so much for reading, I really hope you enjoyed, see you next time...
